BLOG FEATURE: Erika Pelletier

Erika is a member of my new group: Oak Cliff Craft Collective. She does not currently have an etsy shop but it will come soon.

This is a little about her:

I will have been married 14 years this year and have two wonderful boys - one of which reminds me of me as a child since he loves to create all kinds of things! Oh and I am the one on the right in the picture, the other lovely woman is my grandmother, whom I adore and has always been proud to wear anything I make for her!

I have been making things all my life (and probably drove my mother crazy with it) but only in the last 5 years have I really started to make things that I thought people other than my mom would like!

I love to crochet just about anything - it is so relaxing and doesn't require me to have to really think and concentrate, which is a nice break from my everyday life.

My hope is to get an etsy shop going sometime soon but for now my hope is to just start selling some of my items to people outside of my close friends and family.

My First Blog Feature: LUXE LIVING

My dear friend Sylvia has just opened an etsy shop! I decided that I would introduce her on my blog so you can see the amazing stuff she creates. So here is the interview:

Tell us a little about yourself:
I'm 23 and happily married. I have two dogs and live in Oak Cliff. I'm heavily influenced by the 1920s-1950s and love to collect things, go to junk shops and craft whenever I have a spare moment.

How long have you been making things?
As long as I can remember I've always loved crafting, I really enjoyed art classes in school and spent 2 years in ceramics classes. I've only been sewing for about 3 years.

What is your favorite thing to create?
I really love anything that has to do with the kitchen. I love to cook so its really fun to make things I can use. I hope to expand the range of kitchen related stuff that I offer in my store but the aprons will always be a staple.

What is your hope for your new etsy shop?
I hope that it will become a good resource for unique vintage inspired items and that it will continue to grow and keep me thinking up creative ways to tackle my next project.
