Flowers have come to symbolize emotions and feelings. For example, the amaryllis is dramatic, the yellow rose represents friendship and the gardenia stands for joy. Flowers come in many different shapes and colors with their own symbolism.

Oh, I've got something to say about flowers!
While flowers specifically can be used to signify almost the entire spectrum of emotion and are symbolic to boot, they all are interwoven in an undying theme of romanticism. No matter it be the light perk associated with the sunflower, or the dramatic poignancy of a Rose's bitter, blood splattered thorn, it is through flowers that artists of all shapes and sizes idealize a concept and give it a powerful punch of inspiration. We do not blandly look upon the daisy or brush aside the lily; for each serves as a gem, an encapsulation of so many stories left untold.
Your earrings are beautiful..and I am already a follower.
Something about flowers, I can grow them outdoors but manage to to kill silk flower indoors. My favorite flower has to be Edelweiss, love seeing them bloom in the Alps many many years ago. Such a delicate beauty but very sturdy..

My dad's birthday is the day before St Pattys Day.
He passed away from cancer eleven years ago, so this little holiday is always bittersweet.

Hi:)
Here is an Interested Fact about St Patrick Day: St Patrick died on March 17, AD 461. That day has been commemorated as St. Patrick's Day ever since. The day's spirit is to celebrate the universal baptization of Ireland.

This is not necessarily poignant, but I am Irish, and March is my birthday month, so, there ya go.
I have clover growing in a pot outside. Does that count as a St. Patty story?
As for flowers, after my grandmother's funeral I kept one of the bouquets. I chose one that I thought would dry well. I hung the bouquet upside down in my closet, and then put them in a pitcher in my bedroom. Everytime I see them I think of my grandmother.
I just followed your blog. Nice giveaway! =)

I have just discovered a new flower I planted in my yard called an English Daisy. They are gorgeous and the best part is they are hardy and can take it if we get a suprise freeze!

I am reminded of folks who have passed out of my life by flowers that evoke memories of them. It's always fun to come upon a flower by surprise and realize that so-and-so is sending a smile my way. I'm following your blog. asthenight at gmail dot com
I grew up in Chicago (as Irish a city as you can find outside of, well, Ireland), and my father plays bagpipes. St. Patrick's day always meant a day or a weekend of walking alongside the pipe band in one parade after another. For most of my friends, it's a party holiday, but for me it will always remind me of being a little girl, proud of her daddy.

Cute earrings! I have a similar pair in my shop.
I was once in the St. Patrick's Day parade in San Francisco -- as a passenger on a cable car filled with people from the Dover Club, a bar my cousin used to bartend. It was a wild and crazy day. At one point, I was surprised to find out I was standing shoulder to shoulder with one of the Mitchell Brothers (those from SF will know this name), who was out on bail, awaiting trial for killing his brother/business partner. Yikes!
... and I'm a follower now. :)
Don't want to leave my email address on here, but if I win (and I'm crossing my fingers), you can convo me through my Etsy shop -- http://www.theresaj.etsy.com.
